Anniversaries for Feb. 11

Parks 50th

Dan and Colleen (Powner) Parks of Zionsville will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Feb. 14, 2010. The couple plans to celebrate their golden anniversary with family.

Mr. and Mrs. Parks were married Feb. 14, 1960, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Indianapolis. The Rev. Don Bachman officiated.

The couple’s daughter, Deanna Hart, and her husband, Rene, of Whitestown will host the celebration. The couple have two grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.

Mr. Parks was a farmer. He retired in 2008.

Mrs. Parks was an HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) specialist at St. Vincent Hospital. She retired in 2006.

The couple has resided in Boone County for 49 years.

Bowen 50th

James and Virginia (Stephens) Bowen of Thorntown will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Feb. 14, at a private family dinner at Arni’s in Lebanon. The dinner will hosted by the couple’s children.

The Bowens were married Feb. 14, 1960, at Thorntown Christian Church in Thorntown. Pastor Don Hainer officiated. Maid of honor was Sharon Merrill Gillan, best man was Fred Stephens, flower girl was Cindy Stephens Hickson and the ring bearer was Terri Jo Bowen. There was rain, snow and sun on the day of the wedding.

The couple’s children are Teresa (Robert) Burtner of Mechanicsburg, Kim (Kevin) Lough of Thorntown, and Bob (Anita) Bowen and Roberta (Tim) Caldwell, all of Lebanon. They have 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Bowen are both retired from Deluxe Check Printers.
