Dr. Sam and Judith Young will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 24, 2011. They were married Dec. 24, 1961, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lebanon, by the now-deceased Rev. Paul W. McFarland.
Dr. Young is an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and is serving North Christian Church in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Young is retired from the Huntington Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and is a Mary Kay consultant.
The couple were blessed with four children, Cheryl (Kevin) Brandt of Logansport, Lynn (Lamar) Fogle of Anderson, Charles Eric (Samantha) Young of Wheaton, Ill., and Damon (Virginia) Young of Greendale, Wis. They are the proud grandparents of Kayla Brandt, Lindsey and Lexi Fogle, Ike and Addy Young, and Rachel and Tommy Young.
A family celebration dinner will be held at a later date.
