Caitlin Lee McMasters, 17, was killed instantly Friday when she struck a fir tree head-on in the 5700 block of County Road 750 South.
The 4:10 p.m. crash was only two houses east of her home, said Jamestown Marshal Dennis Isenhower, who was the first officer to arrive at the scene.
McMasters, a senior at Western Boone Jr.-Sr. High School, was driving west, toward her home, on the two-lane paved road near the Boone-Hendricks County line.
