Back to school
Morgan Lawson (left) sorts supplies while Nicholas Brandt gets an early start on his work in Amanda Hall’s first-grade classroom at Central Elementary School Monday, as students in the Lebanon Community School Corp. ended their summer vacation. At Lebanon High School, all of the staff wore matching T-shirts that read “Celebrating Tiger Success!” LCSC Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor said the day went well throughout the corporation. “I was at a couple of elementaries this morning,” he said. “It’s always nice to see moms and dads bringing their kindergartners and first-graders to school.” There were no glitches with buses, Taylor said. A few students at Lebanon High School were sent home because they were in violation of the corporation’s new dress code, Taylor said. Besides that, and new parents learning the driving patterns at Central and Harney elementaries, “it’s been really, really good,” Taylor said.
