The Following Day performs Friday night at the inaugural Parky’s Smokehouse Boone County Fourth of July Battle of the Bands at the Lebanon Memorial Park Bandstand. “We like to keep a good variety of events for the crowd,” said Kyle Burress, chair of the first-ever event. “Absolutely, I’d like to keep it going next year.” Lebanon’s Styx Tribute Band — Taylor Kincaid, Jake Woodall and Chris Tucker — took first place, winning plaques, a free Parky’s dinner and a spot in Parky’s upcoming open mic night. The band gave up their winner’s encore to let The Following Day, who traveled from New Palestine, play again.
