Center Stage to present adult comedy

Center Stage Community Theatre of Lebanon is presenting the adult comedy, “PS Your Cat is Dead!” written by James Kirkwood, May 22 through June 7. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Originally written as a play and then a novel, “P.S. Your Cat Is Dead!” deals with a hapless actor, Jimmy Zoole, who is left by his girlfriend on New Year’s Eve.

Jobless and bereft of his girlfriend, he arrives home to discover from a note that his cat has died in an animal clinic, and surprises a burglar, Vito, in his apartment.

His discovery of the burglar at a moment he feels he is at the peak of his despair and what unfolds following this discovery lead to a very funny and yet human and poignant comedy. Acting in this presentation are Jonathan Evans, Scott Russell, Maew Houston and Gordon Ayres. It is being directed by Cheryl Fesmire who has acted in three previous Center Stage Community Theatre plays: “Love Letters,” “Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner,” and “Chalk Garden.” Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Call (765) 894-5587 for reservations. The theater is located at 604 Powell Street, Lebanon. It is handicapped accessible.
