Lebanon — Teens and experienced teams are still being sought for the annual Almost Anything Goes competitions.
The event pits teams against each other in a series of silly contests ranging from inner tube races to food eating relays to musical ice buckets. This year the games will have a Hollywood theme in conjunction with the theme.
Seven member teams must be comprised of three males, three females and a captain of either gender. All members of the teen teams must be between the ages of 13-19. Those on experienced adults teams should be age 40 and over.
Event co-chairman Steve Cooper stated rules would remain similar to past events. Some new events have been added as well as many perennial favorites.
Area businesses, clubs, organizations and individuals are encouraged to sponsor teams for this often zany event that has become an anchor event for the week-long Independence Day Celebration in Lebanon. Entry deadline for the Teen and Experienced Adult has been extended to June 19 with 10 teams being selected for each evening’s competition. These teams will be selected by a random drawing to be held on June 20.
Teen competition is scheduled June 29, while the experienced (age 40 and older) take the field on July 1. The adult competition will be June 30, and the field is already filled. All contests begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Lebanon Memorial Park bandstand.
Teens and experienced teams wishing to enter should pick up an entry form from The Farmer’s Bank, Lebanon Sports and Fitness, the Lebanon Library or The Lebanon Reporter and mail it as directed along with a $20 entry fee. Entry fees will be refunded to all teams not selected for this event.
