Fair Factor field chosen

Top 5 advance to rock star challenge Tuesday.

Boone County — Twelve competitors started Fair Factor Monday, ready to give it their shot at winning $500 for their not-for-profit organization. In the end only five remained. The qualifying challenge was Fair Factor fair food: Pig's ears, not elephant ears' pickled pigs feet sandwich, not pork burger; a kicked up corn dog; and a refreshing lemon shake up made with vinegar, ginger and onion powder to wash it all down.

Ryan Laney, competing for the Boone County Cancer Society, took first place, cleaning his plate in 1:46. Second was Brandon Beesley of the Advance Volunteer Fire Departmentin a time of 2:03. Crystal Bolen took third for Riley Hospital for Children with 2:24. Fourth was Dustin Cox for the Army National Guard. And the last qualifier was Nathan Reagan, playing for the Eagles Ladies Auxilary.

Willie Morris for the Countryside Christian Fellowship scholarship program and Mary Walkup for Essex Nursing and Rehab finished the challenge, but not in fast enough time to qualify.

Kristi Reynolds of Behavior Corp, Tiffany Perdue of the Community Foundation of Boone County Cody Shultz for Freedom Church and Chery Goodwin of the Lebanon Educational Foundation just couldn't finish the challenge.

One of the top 5 qualifiers will win $500 cash for their organizaiton.

Competition continues Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the center circle. Contestants each drew names of different rock stars, both past and present, and will do a one minute impression of that star, including singing, costume and dancing.
