Lebanon — Ilene and Romeo were the big winners Sunday afternoon at the Boone County 4-H cat show.
Ilene, a short hair Tabby owned by Thomas Garrity, was the Grand Champion Cat.
Romeo, the champion purebred owned by Jake Pell, went on to become the Reserve Grand Champion Cat.
Dale and Patty Pace from Rochester were judges for the afternoon, and Dale Pace said he was glad to be judging in Boone County for a second year.
He said Boone County isn’t only the biggest show he and his wife judge, it is also among the best.
“The cats look great and they’re well cared for,” Pace said. He said the youths also do a good job showing the cats. “It shows they have good leadership.”
In addition to showing the cats, the 4-H’ers also competed in cage decorating and cat knowledge.
