Boone County —
More than 1,600 people have come to the Boone County Clerk’s office election division to cast early ballots in the Nov. 6 general election. Through 4 p.m. Wednesday, 1,599 persons had visited the election division in the basement of the Boone County Courthouse, said Andrew Wood, deputy clerk for elections.
“We’ve been having a fairly steady turnout,” Wood said Thursday. “We’re ahead of 2008’s early voting.”
“Just today we counted 197,” deputy clerk Jessica Fouts said at 3:30 p.m. Thursday as she updated election files. “It seems that every day it keeps getting a little bit bigger.”
