Lebanon — An Indiana State Police investigation into allegations a Lebanon police officer pulled a gun while off duty in a Lebanon bar has been turned over to local officials.
Patrolman Jason Leap was placed on unpaid suspension on Aug. 30, after a five-day paid suspension expired.
The suspensions were based on a letter from Police Chief Tom Garoffolo to Mayor Huck Lewis; other members of the city’s Board of Works and Public Safety, and city attorney Bob Clutter.
“The action is due to serious allegations stemming from an Indiana State Police investigation regarding an incident of pointing a firearm in the early morning hours of July 18,” Garoffolo wrote.
