Document doesn’t establish motive in triple-homicide

By Sarah Lang/The Lebanon Reporter

Barney Jose Chamorro, 19, is cooperating with officers investigating the Whitestown triple-homicide.

Chamorro was arrested near the town of Pyote, Texas, in the deaths of his twin brother, father and the woman they lived with, approximately 23 hours after he was seen buying an atlas, gas, cigarettes, a lighter and sodas at a Crystal Flash gas station at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 25, near Interstate 65 and Ind. 334 according to court documents. A security tape of the transactions shows Chamorro’s right hand was bandaged, the documents said.

The documents are the record of the conversation when Whitestown Police Major Jim Fouch and Boone County Deputy Prosecutor Kent Eastwood asked Boone Superior Court II Judge Rebecca McClure to issue an arrest warrant for Chamorro. That report was made available Monday.
