Lebanon — Robert Willhite Jr., 53, Lebanon, appeared in court Monday for an initial hearing on two counts of child seduction.
Willhite, a longtime Lebanon Middle School teacher and coach, was arrested last week after police received a complaint alleging Willhite had inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old female former student.
At the hearing in Boone Superior Court II, Judge Rebecca McClure outlined the charges, both Class D felonies.
The judge entered a preliminary plea of not guilty on Willhite’s behalf.
Also Monday, the probable cause hearing transcript that led to his arrest was released.
In the document, Lebanon Police Department Det. Captain Maurice D. Hobson testified that he was notified by the mother of a Lebanon High School student that she believed her daughter was involved in an inappropriate relationship with Willhite.
