Kirklin man charged with theft from Goodwill

Lebanon — A Kirklin man faces theft charges after Lebanon Police arrested him Wednesday morning for allegedly stealing items, including women’s clothing, from a collection box at a Goodwill store.

Michael Luke, 57, 700 block of West Doty Avenue, was wearing a denim mini-skirt, women’s top, wig and sandals when officers arrested him, Lebanon Police spokesman Lt. Brent Wheat said Wednesday.

Luke, who was charged with class D felony theft, has an initial hearing scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Boone Superior Court II.

Local peace officer program is Wednesday

Three Boone County law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty will be among those honored Wednesday during local observance of National Peace Officer’s Memorial Day.
The program is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on the north steps of the Boone County Courthouse in downtown Lebanon. In the event of bad weather, the program will be held in the courthouse rotunda.
