County delays ‘historic’ bridge project decision

Lebanon — One rural bridge will be replaced this year, while a bridge considered “historic” because it crosses a ditch at a sharper-than-usual angle has been temporarily removed from a repair list.

Bridge 268, on County Road 750 South over the Ross Ditch, east of the Pittsboro Road, will be replaced this year, County Highway Superintendent Rick Carney told the Boone County Council Tuesday. Money to replace the CR 750 S bridge is already in place, Carney said, and work will begin this year.
