Condemnation procedures could be begun by the Boone County Commissioners to obtain right-of-way for a bridge that is part of plans to extend CR 400 S from Interstate 65 to CR 650 E.
One property owner wants substantially more for his property because he believes its worth more on the open market. The property owner was not identified.
“He wants what he’s been offered for Subaru,” Highway Superintendent Rick Carney said.
The bridge over Fishback Creek, at CR 400 S and CR 575 E, would be part of a new road that has been proposed by a commercial real estate broker as the site for a 700,000-square-foot distribution center for Subaru of America. The auto manufacturer already has a facility on Indianapolis Road in Whitestown, but has outgrown the space.
