Man charged with hatchet assault on son

Boone County — Officers seized what they believed could be a fully automatic AR-15-type rifle from a rural Thorntown home after they arrested a man for allegedly striking his son in the face with a hatchet.

Michael L. Wilson, 54, is in the Boone County Jail on $10,000 bond, charged with class C felony battery with a deadly weapon, for allegedly hitting his adult son, Chadwick Wilson, with a 20-inch-long hatchet during a fight Friday evening at a home in the 9400 block of Indiana 39 North, Thorntown.
