Liquid from raw chicken leaks onto off-ramp

Boone County —

Liquid from a 40,000-pound load of raw chicken bones seeped onto an Interstate 65 off ramp Thursday morning, prompting police to call a food inspector from the Boone County Health Department.

“It was leaking out the back end,” said Greg Inman, head of the BCHD’s environmental division. “It  was parked on an incline,”

A passerby called the Boone County Sheriff’s Office after seeing the Koch Foods, Inc., semi parked on the off-ramp to Indiana 47.

When the deputy arrived, he saw the leak, and notified both the Indiana State Police and the health department.
