Whitestown —
Six words summarized the feelings of most of those at a public hearing Friday over Whitestown’s proposal to annex all of Worth Township now outside the town limits, and a part of Perry Township as well.
“We want to be left alone,” said Clint Courtney, a rural Fayette resident who joined about 75 people at the hearing, held in the Whitestown Fire Department’s chilly truck bay while fire engines idled outside.
“There’s nothing that Whitestown can offer us that we don’t already have,” Courtney said.

Lebanon fire leaves man in critical condition
Lebanon Fire and Boone County Sheriff's Office personnel investigated a 1 a.m. Wednesday house fire that caused critical injuries to one occupant.
Shawn Lambert, 45, Lebanon, is in critical condition at Wishard Hospital with burns and respiratory injuries he suffered in a 1 a.m. Wednesday house fire at 519 E. Noble St., Lebanon.
