Officers nab homicide suspect

Boone County — A farmer’s suspicion that “something was not right” led to the arrest Wednesday morning of an Indianapolis man wanted for homicide, arson, robbery and other charges.

Balagoon Sankofa, 49, said, “go ahead and handcuff me, you got me” to Boone County Sheriff’s deputies Jesse Boggs and Brad Dunn after they found him standing in a road near CR 600 S and CR 650 W Wednesday morning.

Boggs recognized Sankofa as an armed and dangerous fugitive as he was checking a database of wanted suspects, Boone County Sheriff’s CPL Chris Burcham said in a press release.
