Tip top shapes

Seventy-three students marched around the Central Elementary gym Friday afternoon with all manner of contraptions strapped to their heads. There was a jungle scenefrom Jumanji, an iceberg covered in penguins from "March of the Penguins," what appeared to be the entire Lebanon school district. The school held its annual Hat Day Parade, with students competing in five categories.

Winners were:Hats off to Books — Lucas Debard and Sarah Van Atter; Uniquely You — Kendall McCallum and Madison Skiles; Central Spirit — K.K. Hoene and Abigayle Krulik; Team Spirit — Emily Keller and Jalan Camarillo; American Spirit — Kelsee Robinson and Kate Stanley; Principal’s Choice Award — Ross Wilson.

Winners and 10participants drawn at random won an invitation to a special Mad Hatter’s pizza lunch Tuesday.

  • LCSC seeks funding for school police dept.

    The Lebanon Community School Corporation is looking at developing a corporation police/security department after the school board of trustees passed a resolution at last week’s meeting giving the department authority to operate if the corporation is able to obtain funding.

This year’s theme was “A Moonlight Masquerade,” and it was the first of four annual fundraisers that provide funding to support continuous improvements and programs at Witham Health Services.
