Driver taken to hospital after crash

Firefighters and emergency medical personnel tended to Peggy J. Brickey, Thorntown, after her 2009 Pontiac Vibe hit a 1997 Ford Explorer driven by Jacob Lind, Colfax, about 12:10 p.m. Monday. Lebanon Police Sgt. Tony Bales said witnesses told him that Brickey, northbound on Lebanon Street, ran a red light at Lakeshore Drive, hitting Lind’s SUV on the left rear quarter. The impact flipped the Explorer on its side. Brickey complained of neck, hip and arm pain; she was taken to Witham Hospital, Lebanon. Lind, who was wearing a seat belt, declined treatment, Bales said. Police were several hundred feet south of the intersection, investigating an earlier three-vehicle crash.
