Boone County —
Lebanon school board members enjoyed a fresh start to the new year a little early Tuesday as they held their first school board meeting in the brand new Lebanon Community Center housed at Lebanon High School.
The center is a partnership between the Lebanon Community School Corporation and the city of Lebanon. The two entities entered into an interlocal agreement last year, allowing the 2,000-square-foot community center already planned for LHS to be expanded to 9,600 square feet. The Lebanon Redevelopment Commission agreed to earmark funds to contribute to the construction costs of the extra space. The center will be used by Lebanon schools, the city and will also be able to be rented out.
