Boone County —
More than $4,000 in merchandise has been donated for an auction to benefit Boone County Jail Maintenance Supervisor Michael “Mike” Vaughan and his wife, Sally, a Boone County Courthouse custodian.
The Vaughans, who are facing massive medical expenses, are receiving support from fellow county employees and area businesses, said Karen Lasley-Maue.
A committee of county employees have been working after hours to organize a hog roast and auction to benefit the couple.
The hog roast will be 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lebanon Elks Lodge, 215 Lafayette Avenue, Lebanon. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 to 9; there is no charge for children up to age 3. Tickets at the door are $12.
The auction, conducted by Steve Cross, will start at 5:30 p.m.
