Lincoln's Lebanon

Lebanon — Andrea Regner, standing, dries the last of the breakfast dishes as Pat Mount and Jason Vilches relax and Nathaniel Vilches, 2, plays with a replica of a Civil War-era toy Sunday morning. The group, including Matt Regner (not in the photo) are all members of the First Wisconsin Light Artillery. They participated in the Civil War encampment that was part of the Lincoln’s Lebanon weekend in Lebanon’s Memorial Park.

The event included a visit from a Lincoln impersonator, periodic skirmishes, and glimpses of the lives of Civil War soldiers through the encampment. Pat Mount, who lives on the southwest side of Indianapolis, said members of the Wisconsin Light Artillery participate in about a dozen such events each year. While she and her husband have been involved in reenactments for more than 30 years, she said this was their first time at the Lebanon event. “We like it,” she said, noting they plan to return next year.
