Boone County hires public health nurse

Boone County — Brandy Franklin is looking forward to doing her favorite nursing activity: Teaching people how to be healthy.

The Crawfordsville native began her job as Boone County’s public health nurse on Monday. The position had been vacant for several months.

Now in her 13th year as a licensed practical nurse, Franklin will be giving immunizations and performing other public health duties at the Boone County Health Department, but is also looking forward to educating patients.
