It took less than an hour for police to apprehend a naked car thief Tuesday.
John Baldwin Jr., 24, unknown address, “apparently had a guilty conscience,” Lebanon Police Lt. Brent Wheat said in a press release.
At 8:06 a.m. Tuesday, Deputy Jesse Boggs was attempting to serve a civil paper to a resident on Powell Street in Lebanon, Wheat said. While doing so, he saw a nude male jump from a second floor window two houses to the east.
Other units converged on the area but did not find the suspect. Officers identified Baldwin after talking to family members. Baldwin apparently believed police were attempting to serve him with an arrest warrant.
There was no warrant for Baldwin at that time.
