Boone Countyh — Boone County will come alive on Halloween night with myriad tricks, treats and activities taking place all over the county. The following are trick-or-treating times for the surrounding areas and events scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 31.
In Advance, trick-or-treating will be from 7 to 9 p.m., including in the library.
Jamestown will hold their trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m. There will also be a haunted hay ride and barn at KD Stables and Entertainment, 6736 S. County Road 500 West, Jamestown. This event will run every Friday and Saturday through Oct. 31 from 7 to 11 p.m., and Oct. 18, 25 and 29 from 7 to 10 p.m. The hay ride costs $12 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. The barn is $10 regardless of age, and the price for both is $18 for adults and $16 for children.
The Merchant’s Association in Jamestown will also be holding a costume contest downtown from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Ribbons will be awarded for top three in each of five age groups, and there will be a trophy for the top winner in each age group.
Trick-or-treating in Lebanon will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. And Freedom Church will host the Light the Night event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Washington Street between Lebanon and Meridian streets. The street will be closed, and there will be a carnival with games, inflatables, a costume contest, music and face painting. The Revolution will have pumpkin painting, food, candy and hot chocolate. The event is free, and there will be door prizes for adults and children.
