New drug dog joins Lebanon Police Dept.
Lebanon — A new police dog has joined the Lebanon Police Department, bringing the total K9 units to two dogs, two years after one was retired.
Bash, a 5-year-old German Shepherd, came to the LPD in September, joining Chief, an almost 2-year-old German Shepherd. Chief is handled by Officer Eric Adams and has been with the force for about a year and a half.
Bash is handled by Officer Ben Phelps, who said he volunteered to do the additional training to be a K9 officer.
“I like working with the dogs, and I enjoy going out and finding the drugs,” he said.
