Verla Childress Bunch

Verla Childress Bunch, 70, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at IU Medical Center, Indianapolis.

She was born Oct. 10, 1939, in Mt. Vernon, Ky., to Thelma and Willis Childress, both of whom preceded her in death. Her brothers, Johnny, Neva, Raymond and David and one sister, Mary, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Larry and Shawna Hood; granddaughter, Naomi; grandsons, Jeremy and Jonathon Hood; and seven great-grandchildren.

Surviving siblings are Ray Childress, Dale Childress, Zona Phelps and Betty Cochran, all of Indiana, and Louise Taylor and Bonnie Turner, both of Kentucky.

Visitation is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Dowell and Martin Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon, Ky. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at the funeral home, and will be conducted by Pastor Art Thomas of North Salem. Final resting place is at Reynolds Cemetery.
