Lebanon — Lindsey Williams earned the honor of being named the 2012 Boone County Fair Supreme Showman.
Williams and seven others had been named master showmen during the beef, dairy cattle, meat goat, dairy goat, swine, sheep, horse and llama shows throughout the week, and competed against each other Wednesday night.
The master showmen, the breed in which they were named master showmen, and their years in 4-H are: Williams, 16, swine, eight-year member; Grant Randle, 18, dairy cow, 10-year member; Ila Scott, 19, meat goat, 10-year member; Jody Miller, 16, beef, eight-year member; Tessa Mattingly, 16, sheep, eight-year member; Ellia Aguayo, 14, horse and pony, a six-year member; Kelsee Robinson, 14, llama, a five-year member; and Adeline Smith, 12, dairy goat, a three-year member.
The showmen worked with each species of animal for 15 minutes in front of a judge. During that time, judges evaluated how the showman handled each animal and asked each showman a question about the animal they were showing.
Williams said she has been showing swine for eight years.
