A consultant will review the Boone County Courthouse employee handbook, with changes possibly applicable to other departments, the Boone County Commissioners decided Monday.
The commissioners approved a $1,500 contract, pending formal review by County Attorney Bob Clutter, with Dunlap HR Consulting Group.
Company owner Dennis Dunlap is also a human resources consultant for Clinton and Scott counties, he said at Monday’s meeting.
The courthouse handbook “would be a starting point” to review HR policies for other departments, said Commissioner Jeff Wolfe.
Monday, the commissioners also:
n Authorized Courthouse Maintenance Supervisor Mike Miller to sign a $3,500 agreement with Architura Corp., Inc., an Indianapolis architectural firm, to write specifications for roofs over the courthouse skylights.
Miller was also given clearance to build a booth for deputies who provide security at the courthouse. The one full-time and one part-time deputies now use a desk, which Sheriff Ken Campbell said “looks awful,” tucked in a first-floor corner of the rotunda. Miller said the enclosed booth will cost about $100 for materials.
n Authorized a contract with Boone County Community Corrections to test a new model GPS monitor for probationers;
n Took under advisement bids for six new cars for the Boone County Sheriff’s Office; and
n Declared April officially Child Abuse Prevention Month.
