Lebanon — Tammy Denny, right, and Mary Heady, volunteers with the Boone County Health Department, prepare school vaccines for students during the free vaccine clinic Wednesday afternoon at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds. Lebanon High School nurse Jackie McNutt was checking off names as students were vaccinated. Of the 1,035 students in Lebanon schools, McNutt said all of them need to have up to three new vaccinations this year. “It’s quite an undertaking,” she said. “But the health department has been fabulous in working with the school district.”
The health department began giving these free vaccinations last April, and as of the beginning of the clinic Wednesday, McNutt said she had about 105 students left to check off.
