County OKs additional payment for road project

Boone County — Compensation for right-of-way that would allow a shorter drive between Interstate 65 and the main north-south road in Whitestown is being offered some property owners.

Representatives of two property owners asked for a total of $7,100 in additional compensation for land at CR 400 S and CR 500 E.

There is a 1-3/4-mile gap between CR 400 S, which runs along the north side of the Anson commercial, industrial and residential development, and CR 575 E, the next north-south county road to the east; the county plans to extend CR 400 S to bridge that gap.
