Economist optimistic about Boone County, Indiana future

Boone County — According to one economist, Boone County and Indiana are ready to bounce back in the next three to four years.

Kyle J. Anderson, Ph.D. and clinical assistant professor of business economics at the Indiana University Kelly School of Business, said he believes Boone County and Indiana will bounce back from the economic downturn in 2009. Anderson spoke at the Boone County Economic Outlook sponsored by the Boone County Economic Development Corporation and Zionsville Chamber of Commerce Thursday.

“Over the past four years, I’ve given speeches like this, and it’s been kind of depressing,” he said. “Of the last four years, I’ve never been more optimistic about the economic outlook than I am right now.”

Anderson said that Boone County has not been hit as hard as other communities in Indiana in recent years.
