Lebanon — The 2010 4-H dairy show started without a hitch Monday afternoon, and it ended rather Nicley.
In an ending that mirrored the 2009 dairy show, Caleb Nicley captured the top honors of Supreme Champion Dairy and Best Uddered Cow. Then, he won an award for himself — Master Showmanship.
After seeing the first class of dairy cows, judge Mike Jones commented on the quality of the livestock he was seeing.
“I’ve judged in three different states and it’s just phenomenal what you do here in Boone County,” he said.
His opinion hadn’t changed by the end of the show.
“You’ve got a good thing going here in Boone County,” said Jones, who owns and operates Spring Brook Farms in Marshall.
It wasn’t just the dairy cows that impressed Jones.
