Lebanon —
It didn’t take long for the Lebanon Lady Tigers to show who was the top team in the sectional championship game Saturday night against North Montgomery.
The Tigers jumped out to a 7-0 lead three minutes into the game and never looked back in a 62-28 win.
“It is a little overwhelming right now,” Lebanon head coach Beth DeVinney said. “It is tremendous for the kids to have three in a row. ...It takes a whole bunch of people to put this on and do all this — assistant coaches and I have had help from a bunch of other people too. It was a total team thing and we worked really hard so this is really gratifying.”
North Montgomery turned the ball over on its first six possessions.
Lebanon freshman Kristen Spolyar had two breakaway lay-ups to kick off the scoring for Lebanon and senior Katie Curtis hit a 3-pointer to make it 7-0 wit 5:00 left in the first quarter.
The Chargers Hayden Parsons hit a shot to put them on the board with 4:44 in the quarter, but the Tigers responded with a 14-1 run to take a 21-3 lead and led 21-5 after one.
