Lebanon — After blowing a two games to none lead to rival Crawfordsville Tuesday evening, the Lebanon volleyball team found themselves in a do or die game five to even its Sagamore Conference record at 1-1.
The Tigers delivered when they needed to winning the final game 15-10 and clinching the thrilling five-game victory 25-21, 25-15, 16-25, 18-25, 15-10.
“It showed me a lot about their willingness to go out there and try to win no matter what the circumstances are,” Lebanon Head Coach Rob Zajdel said. “Over the weekend we had a really good game against Cascade and I think we used that as a momentum platform into tonight. Getting those first two games, we had a lot of confidence. (In the) third game we got behind badly, but we still fought, and that was the key, to not giving up on the game. We could have easily let it go and given up, but we didn’t. I used a lot of energy on my side to help propel them to play at a high level. And it showed in that fifth game that we ran off my emotions. But it is not me, they are playing, but the energy wored for them.”
