Beard leads Lebanon past Bruins

Lizton — Mike Beard’s four-year experience as a starter helped Lebanon dominate Tri-West, 37-13, Friday night in a Sagamore Conference game here.

Beard made three of his eight completions good for touchdowns and set up the Tigers other two scores on the way to 204 combined yards of offense, 90 of them rushing. He also made a critical takeaway on defense with an interception in the end zone that denied Tri-West a score in the first quarter.

Down by just one point to Lebanon at half-time, the Tri-West Bruins might have been just three plays away from holding a 21-7 lead.  But, a multitude of second half mistakes and Beard’s significant presence took a quick toll on Tri-West.
