Lebanon — The Lebanon Tigers boys soccer team looked poised to win its Sagamore Conference opener Thursday night against Crawfordsville after taking a 1-0 lead minutes into the second half.
But after a few bounces eluded the Tigers’ defense in the final 20 minutes, Crawfordsville scored twice to beat the Tigers 2-1.
“I think it was some mental mistakes,” Lebanon Head Coach Ryan Tucker said. “I wouldn’t say (Crawfordsville) created the goals as much as we kind of created some mistakes back there. It happens. They pounced on it and they deserve it. They cleaned up our mistakes and got two goals out of it. Outside of that I thought we were the better team tonight for most of the game.”
After a scoreless first half, Lebanon took the lead 2:01 into the second frame.
Ray Solomon broke down the left side and sent a perfect cross to Garrett Breedlove who headed the ball into the sidenetting.
