Rex Gene Bors

Mr. Rex Gene Bors, 76, of Lebanon, died July 22, 2009, at his apartment in Lebanon.

Mr. Bors was born May 18, 1933, in Lincoln, Neb. He was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Fries) Bors.

He married Vrena Clements Pennington on April 6, 1997. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Bors received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy on June 27, 1951.

Survivors include his three sons, Larry Joe of Tilden, Neb., Edwin Eugene of Guntersville, Ala., and Kevin Dale of St. Joe, Mo.; three stepdaughters, Nancy Pennington Joseph, Janice Pennington Conn of Lizton, and Elizabeth Pennington Freeland of North Salem; and stepson, Alvin Dale Pennington of Cloverdale.

He is also survived by 15 step-grandchildren, Jaclyn Joseph Witham, Jeanan Joseph, Nathan Joseph, Joni Joseph of Lizton, Erica Conn Kenny of Huntsville, Ala., Lindsay Conn of Lizton, Jessica Freeland of Danville, Wesley and Ryan Freeland of New Ross, Michael Johnson, Michelle Hilbert, Cody Pennington, Daniel and Monica Hodgess of Cloverdale, and Amanda Woods of Germany; and 12 grandchildren, three live in Guntersville, Alabama, three live in Nebraska, two live in Germany and four live in Nebraska and Missouri.

Also surviving are one great-grandson, Franklin Lyle Bors of Nebraska; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren, Brad and Cory Witham of Lizton, Elijah and Rilee Freeland of New Ross, Braxton of Danville, Jeffrey Woods of Germany and Jesse and Cyana Hilbert of Cloverdale.

Mr. Bors was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Donald Bors.

Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Porter Funeral Home, 315 W. Main Street, Jamestown. No services are scheduled.
