Mr. Jimmie L. Giles Jr., 54, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.
A lifelong resident of Boone County, Mr. Giles was born in Lebanon on June 19, 1955. He was the son of Marabelle Rose (Sandtorf) Giles and the late Jimmie Lee Giles Sr.
Mr. Giles was a graduate of Lebanon High School. He worked for Dexter Axle in Lebanon and was also a truck driver for many years.
He married Debra Ann Kohr on Dec. 27, 1974, in Lebanon. Mrs. Giles survives.
For twenty years, Mr. Giles enjoyed being a Ham Radio operator. He was a loving husband and father to his family and will be greatly missed.
He was a member of BCARA (Boone County Amateur Radio Association) and the Weather Spotter Team of Boone County.
Survivors include his mother, who resides in Lebanon; his wife, who resides in Lebanon; one son, Josh Ryan Giles of Lebanon; one sister, Nancy J. Rowing and husband, Johnny, of Indianapolis; and nieces, Courtney Hollins and Carrie Hollins.
Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Lowell Spaulding officiating. Interment will be at the Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.
