Barbara L. Hathaway, 84, of Thorntown, died Wednesday Sept. 12, 2012, at her home.
Barbara was born Jan. 10, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the now late Elbert and Margaret (Bennett) Carter. She was a 1947 graduate of Cayuga High School.
She moved to Thorntown from Kingman in 1958, and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Lebanon.
Barbara married Billy D. Hathaway on Nov. 10, 1948, in Cayuga. He survives, along with daughter, Kathy (Walter) Medley of Thorntown; two grandchildren, Brian (Vicki) Medley of Thorntown and Dawn (Dewayne) Rector of Logansport; four great-grandchildren, Tiara and Shelby Medley, and Devin and Drew Rector.
Private family services will be held at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
