Lebanon — 1944-2010
Mrs. Jewell Clarice Ragsdale, 65, of Lebanon, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at home.
Mrs. Ragsdale was born in Winchendon, Mass., on Dec. 21, 1944. She was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Clarice Madeline Burns. She graduated from high school in Massachusetts. She later attended nursing school and served in the United States Air Force as a nurse, stationed in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She was married to William Robert Ragsdale and they later divorced.
Mrs. Ragsdale worked as an LPN for various nursing facilities in the Lebanon and Indianapolis area. She enjoyed helping others and lovingly cared for many until the end of their lives. She worked as an LPN until her retirement two years ago due to her health.
Her interests included reading, knitting, collecting Thomas Kinkade items and lighthouses. She was known as a talented knitter by many.
Mrs. Ragsdale attended New Brunswick Church of Christ, Lebanon.
Survivors include two sons, James O. (Cheryl) Ragsdale of Lexington, Ky., and Timothy J. Ragsdale of Lebanon; two brothers, Kent (Lucille) Burns of Leicester, Mass., and Vance H. Burns of Gardner, Mass.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Brent A. Ragsdale.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Memorial services are to be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Chapel of Memories. Myers Mortuary is entrusted with cremation.
