Mr. Roger Alan Ennis, 61, of Lebanon, died Sunday, July 23, 2012, at his residence.
He was born April 12, 1951, in Lebanon. He was son to the now late E. L. Ennis Jr. and the former Mary E. Caldwell Withrow. His mother survives, living in Monticello.
Mr. Ennis married the former Viola Matthews on Aug. 15, 1971. They later divorced.
He attended schools in Lebanon and served in the U.S. Navy for three years.
Mr. Ennis had been a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Lebanon since he was a child. He worked as a parts manager in a marine repair shop in Louisiana. After he moved back to Lebanon, he worked as a utility clerk at Kroger. He was an excellent swimmer and his family nicknamed him “Water Dog.” He loved water skiing and all types of water sports.
He is also survived by a son, Richard Alan (Michelle) Ennis of Winter Park, Fla.; daughter, Nicole Rene Ennis of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Matthew Alan Ennis of Florida, Timothy Arnold Ennis, Jacob Alan Ennis, Brooke Rose Ennis and Jenna Rose Ennis; brother, Michael (Linda) Withrow of South Carolina; two sisters, Cynthia (Al) Thurman of California, and Alicia Fletcher of Delphi.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 27, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Lebanon. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Jared Kendall officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
