Ina Hankins, 91, Forsyth, Mo., formerly of Thorntown, died Friday, Nov. 16, in Forsyth.
She was born May 8, 1921, in Colfax, to Henry Craven and Mary Whitfield. She married Leslie Hankins in Lebanon in 1948, and he passed away in 1992.
She was a homemaker on the family farm, and worked for a furniture factory during World War II. She moved to Forsyth in 2007 to be with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Forsyth.
Her hobbies included her family, cooking, canning, sewing and watching sports — especially the Indiana Pacers — and TV shows such as “Lawrence Welk,” “Wheele of Fortune,” “Walker Texas Ranger.”
Survivors include, four grandsons, Ronald Birge and Ricky Birge of Rockaway, Mo., Rory (Kim) Birge of Forsyth, and Ross (Mindy) Birge of Branson, Mo.; a granddaughter, Rolyanda (Steve) Martin of Forsyth; eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Robert Birge, many brothers and sisters, and grandsons Ryan and Robbie Birge preceded her in death.
Arrangements are being handled by Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 116 W. Plum St., Thorntown.
Graveside services are set for Saturday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m., with burial at Plainview Cemetery in Colfax.
