Mr. John William Tatman, 85, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at his residence in Lebanon.
Mr. Tatman was born Oct. 18, 1927, in Brookston, the son of the now late Levi Cleveland and Mae Belle (Robertson) Tatman.
Reared and educated in Brookston, he attended Brookston High School. Following school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably.
He married Sylvia (Miller) Erlenbach; they divorced. He then married Rosemond B. Zarse on Aug. 29, 1969, in Reynolds. Mrs. Tatman passed away on July 29, 2010.
Mr. Tatman spent several years in Riverton, Wyo., working as a driver for Herman Trucking and then as a heavy equipment operator for Lucky Mac and Union Carbide. He moved to Florida, where he worked for Waste Pro. He moved to Lebanon in 2010 to be closer to his family.
As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, he loved his family dearly. He was an avid horseman all of his life.
Survivors include six children, June (Bruce) Brown of Delphi, Wayne(Amanda) Tatman of Casper, Wyo., Rosie (David) Kauffman of Lebanon, Nelson (Nancy) Wood of Sanford, Fla., Fred (Marla)Wood of Athens, Ga., and Burt Marchard-Hartman of Bringhurst; daughter-in-law, Norma Tatman of Riverton, Wyo.; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Tatman of Monticello; and one sister, Sarah Sigman of Lake Placid, Fla.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Tatman; five sisters, Marie Stover-Clawson, Maggie Maxson, Mary Hurst-Dewey, Irene Hartman and Bessie Cole; a son, Larry Tatman; and three grandchildren, Brandon Marc Brown, Brandy JillAnn Brown and Vanessa Hoock.
Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Scott Mauch officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Lutheran Cemetery in Reynolds.
