Leora Striebeck Hutton

Mrs. Leora Striebeck Hutton died July 11, 2012.

She was born July 18,1918, in Marion County, the daughter of Emma Black Striebeck and Otto R. Striebeck. She Graduated from New Augusta High School.

Mrs. Hutton attended Central Normal College, where she attained a teacher’s certificate, and later earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Butler University. She taught in Pike Township, IPS, and Zionsville, for a total of 34 years.

She married Carlton Hutton on June 26, 1948. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hutton spent her life in teaching and helping her husband with their farm operation in Boone County. She and her late husband established the Leora & Carlton Hutton Scholarship Trust to help local graduates further their education.

She was a member of Little Eagle Creek Christian Church and several honorary teacher organizations.

Her Parents and six brothers also preceded her in death.   

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. today, July 13, at Flanner and Buchanan, 105 W. Pine St., Zionsville. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Little Eagle Cemetery.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leora & Carlton Hutton Scholarship Trust, c/o Huntington Bank, 45 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.
