Richard W. Zurfas

Mr. Richard Wayne Zurfas, 76, of Lebanon, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his residence.  

 Mr. Zurfas was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Frankfort, a son of the now late Glenn E. and Marian (Turner) Zurfas. He was married to Mary (Cunningham) Zurfas; she survives.

Richard worked with his father, who owned Glenn E. Zurfas Contractor. They built and remodeled homes in and around Frankfort. Richard also owned and operated Kountry Aire Small Engines in Frankfort, and Rocky Point Resort in Monticello. He worked for Piemonte Foods in Frankfort, retiring in 1997. In 2008 he moved to Lebanon.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; and children, Bryan Wayne Zurfas, Leisa Diane Hill, Scott Alan Zurfas, Trendal Wayne Zurfas and Dea Marian Felty; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather at an open house from 1 until 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon.
