Sue Gilliam

— Mrs. Sue Gilliam, 67, of Brownsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Kindred Health Care in Greenwood.

Mrs. Gilliam was born July 22, 1945, in Indianapolis. She was the daughter of the now late George Washington Jr. and Doris W. (Ping) Orr.

She married Loyd Gilliam Sr.; he died in 1980.

Mrs. Gilliam was reared and educated in Indianapolis, where she graduated from high school. Sue had lived most of her life in Brownsburg, but had also lived in Indianapolis and Greenwood.

She was a 25 year employee of Brownsburg Nursing Home in Brownsburg, where she was a CNA.

Mrs. Gilliam cherished her family and friends. She enjoyed going to many of the events they were involved in. As an active Member of Life’s Temple Church in Clayton, she enjoyed giving her time on Saturday morning at their food pantry.

Survivors include five children, Sara Gilliam (deceased); Judy S. (Michael) Everling of Greenwood, and children, Sara Welsh and Brandy Lovins (deceased); Loyd (Kellie) Gilliam Jr. of Pittsboro, and children, Nicolas, Hayley and Greggory; Daniel Gilliam (deceased); and Julie (Nathan) Sailor of Pittsboro, and children, Rick Gilliam, Austin Burdine and Daniel Burdine (deceased). Also surviving are two brothers, Thomas Martin of Tucson, Ariz., and  Charles Orr of Bloomfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sara; and son, Daniel.

Visitation is 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Leonard Frederick officiating. Interment will follow at the K of P Cemetery in Lizton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, IN 46052.
